A High-Efficiency Single-Mode Traveling Wave Reactor for Continuous Flow Processing

This paper proposes a high-efficiency single-mode traveling wave reactor based on rectangular waveguide and its design method for continuous flow processing. The has large-capacity reaction chamber (1000 mm × 742.8 120 mm) that can provide high-energy-efficiency approximately uniform microwave heating. heating uniformity is improved by maintaining transmission eliminating higher-order modes in such multi-mode chamber. high energy efficiency of achieved adopting impedance matching techniques. incident the remain state, power reflection be minimized. Several numerical simulations multi-physics modeling are conducted to investigate uniformity, flexibility under different operation conditions. results show higher than 99%, meanwhile, coefficient temperature variation lower 0.4. Furthermore, when operated velocities with materials, both also meet above requirements. proposed used applications as oil processing, wastewater tackling, chemical synthesis, beverage sterilization other microwave-assisted processes require good adaptability.
